CBD street cleaning confirmed: chamber advocates for local concerns, council responds

The Deniliquin Business Chamber Executive and Executive Officer recently met with the Mayor and CEO of Edward River Council to address concerns raised by local businesses and the local community regarding the cleaning of our CBD streets.
ERC Council clarified that the CBD cleaning service was never cancelled; rather, it was briefly paused to allow for a comprehensive review of the schedule.
The street cleaning service will continue regularly. The Council has reviewed the timing and frequency of cleaning to ensure it aligns with peak visitor periods and delivers the best value for the community.
As the peak body for local industry, the Deniliquin Business Chamber raised these concerns directly with Council, seeking a swift resolution and ensuring our streets reflect the high standards our businesses and residents expect.
The Deniliquin Business Chamber recognises the importance of maintaining a strong and constructive relationship with Council and we remain committed to fostering this partnership to ensure we can continue to serve as an active and effective voice for our business community.
The Mayor and CEO have expressed their interest in our upcoming Coffee Connection meeting on Wednesday, March 11, from 7:30 am, and invite members to join us in an informal setting to continue to discuss important conversations to the table.
The Deniliquin Business Chamber continues to encourage local business owners to report operational concerns directly to us, allowing us to advocate on your behalf and address these issues constructively and directly with Council.
Our shared goal is to continue making Deniliquin a clean, welcoming and vibrant town for locals, businesses and visitors.
