DBC Brings Deniliquin’s History to Life Through Windows to Our History Project

The Deniliquin Business Chamber is proud to play a leading role in revitalising our CBD through the new Windows to our History Project, a collaboration with Edward River Council.

As our town faces challenges from extreme weather, shifting shopping behaviours, and online competition, DBC is working hard to ensure Deniliquin remains a vibrant, engaging destination for locals and visitors alike.

This innovative project transforms vacant shopfronts into showcases of Deniliquin’s rich history, featuring six 🎨 colourful, illustrated stories by local artist Sivonne Binks. These window decals, created and installed by VisAttak, celebrate the lesser-known figures and events that make our town unique.

Stories Featured Include:

• Cyril Gove: A triple-sport athlete who made history competing nationally in one day.

• Aileen Dent: A local artist who gained recognition through the Archibald Prize.

• Captain Melville: A bold and captivating bushranger with ties to Deniliquin.

You can see the first installations now at 44 and 46 Napier St, and 259 Cressy St. We’re excited to continue this journey in 2025 and hope more businesses and property owners will join us!

DBC thanks all property owners involved and Ray White Real Estate for facilitating access and cooperation. Together, we’re giving Deniliquin’s history a vibrant new spotlight.
